About Emergency Management
Emergency Management prepares the University of Central Florida (UCF) for responding to, recovering from, and mitigating against any natural or manmade disaster and/or crisis. We strive to protect the well being of UCF students, faculty, staff, and guests.
UCF's Emergency Management is responsible for the following:
- Develop and maintain the UCF Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP)
- Develop, plan, and evaluate emergency exercises
- Emergency Operations Center Management
- Provide training for individuals that have emergency management roles and responsibilities
- Provide the university with preparedness information
- Homeland Security responsibilities include:
- Threat Assessments
- Vulnerability Assessments
- Force Protection
- Antiterrorism
- Security Management responsibilities include:
- Assessments and recommendations for:
- Closed circuit television cameras
- Access Control
- Emergency Notification Systems
- Assessments and recommendations for:
- Act as the UCF liaison for local, state, and federal emergency responders and agencies.
Emergency Management falls within the Department of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S). The Emergency Management section prepares UCF for responding to, recovering from, and mitigating against any natural or manmade disaster and/or crisis. Its primary mission is to help protect the wellbeing of UCF students, faculty, staff, and guests.
