Below is Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) emergency management training courses from the Emergency Management Institute (EMI). These courses focus on a national standard for preparedness, prevention, protection, response, and recovery to and from any emergency.
UCF Emergency Management highly recommends anyone to take the following 5 courses:
- IS-100.a Introduction to Incident Command System
- IS-100.HE Introduction to the Incident Command System for Higher Education
- IS-200.a ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
- IS-700.a National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction
- IS-800.b National Response Framework, An Introduction
Continuity of Operations (COOP)
These classes should be taken by those that have COOP responsibilities.
- IS-546 Continuity of Operations (COOP) Awareness Course
- IS-547 Introduction to Continuity of Operations (COOP)
- IS-548 Continuity of Operations (COOP) Program Manager
Emergency Support Functions (ESF):
These classes should be taken by those that have ESF responsibilities.
